Junior Golf in Alameda
Alameda is proud of it’s legacy of having one of the top junior programs in Northern California. The Alameda High School girl’s golf team have not lost a match in seven years! And some of our juniors have gone onto college careers and even the PGA Tour.
Still we have programs to get your children started in a game for a lifetime. It all starts with being FUN and that’s what we try to do in our classes. Scroll through the entire page to see all of programs, free clinic, Summer golf camps and our Alameda Junior Golf Association.
Program Levels and Color Ranking
Our junior program levels are based a color system. Newer golfers start with a red hat or Level 1 and range to White, Blue and Black being the most advanced. Very much resembling the teeing system used at most golf courses or colored belt system at a Karate school.
- The first level in our program means the junior has a success rate of 0%- 25% in our evaluation.
- The second level is for juniors with a success rate of our test from 26%-50%.
- Our level three programs are for juniors with a scoring average and know their basic stats like GIR, putts and fairways hit.
- Level four is for single digit handicaps.
Junior Group Class Level 1
Most of our kids join our level 1 junior class. This is a good place to start especially if they are aren’t shooting under 100 yet on a 18 hole course. The cost is $99 for five one-hour sessions.
Juniors will have fun learning the basics of short and full swings. Juniors will also benefit from some coaching time on the golf course the last couple sessions.
We’ll be running these classes throughout the year, including during the winter months. We’d like to see your kids advancing into the level 2 and beyond if they are interested to keep improving. The goal would be to have your kids progressing with a group of other kids so they play, practice and compete against each other (and of course have fun).
Alameda Junior Golf Association (AJGA)
